Berlin, VT – For nearly 50 years, the Washington County Youth Service Bureau, a private, non-profit organization, has been serving youth and families in Washington County and providing statewide leadership and support to youth-serving organizations throughout Vermont. In an effort to better identify the important work it does, the organization has changed its name to Elevate Youth Services, Inc.
Unveiled on April 12, 2023, the name change is a natural evolution of the services and leadership offered during the organization’s tenure. “Our work has always been about helping youth and families achieve higher aspirations. Our work is also about developing the field of youthwork in the State of Vermont. We feel that Elevate Youth Services, Inc. speaks to both parts of our work and conveys the aspiration that both youth and the field of youthwork are elevated through our commitment to professional youth services,” said Kreig Pinkham, Executive Director.
Along with this change, the organization has revealed a newly designed logo and new website, which can be found at www.elevateyouthvt.org. “We’ve built a strong foundation over many decades and I’m very excited to see what Elevate Youth Services can accomplish moving forward. Our name has changed, but our services have not.” said Pinkham. “I hope people will visit our new website to learn more about these changes and to get reacquainted with who we are, what we do, and why it matters”.
“We’re not a new organization – we just have a new name to better reflect our purpose and impact. We’re the same passionate people with the same life-changing services for youth and families and by changing our name, look, and website, we can better convey our purpose and impact,” said Pinkham.

Elevate Youth Services, formerly the Washington County Youth Service Bureau, helps youth navigate the challenges of adolescence and the path to adulthood. It is a private, non-profit organization that has assisted young people and families since 1974. Our mission is to promote safety, competence, and confidence as youth create their path through adolescence and into adulthood.
As the only non-profit in Washington County focused solely on the unique and complex needs of adolescents and young adults, nearly 400 youth ages 12-26 turn to its direct service programs each year for support. It provides an array of integrated services such as: youth and family counseling, substance use prevention and treatment, emergency shelter and housing assistance, crisis intervention, case management, life skills instruction, teen parent support, and a drop-in teen center. In addition, the agency administers four statewide coalitions of youth service providers that touch another 40,000 youth throughout Vermont annually.
