Washington County Homelessness Days of Action

In-person, free events, for unhoused folks to access housing, services, and resources. No registration required, just show up.

November 30, 12 noon-4pm, Hollow Inn and Motel, 278 Main St., Barre

December 7, 12 noon-4pm, Hilltop Inn, 3472 Airport Rd., Berlin

December 14, 12 noon-4pm, EconoLodge 101 Northfield St., Montpelier

You are welcome to participate whether you are enrolled in Vermont’s Transitional Housing Program, staying in a shelter or camping in a car or vehicle, or interested in helping your neighbors access housing.

There will be:
– Lunch
– Help applying for affordable housing
– A chance to meet with service and housing providers and enroll in a range of programs
– Door prizes!

PRESS RELEASE:

Purpose: To provide a forum for the unhoused in Washington County, Vermont to access housing, services, and resources.

When: November 30, December 7, December 14 from 12pm to 4pm

Where: Homelessness Days of Action will be hosted at each of the following locations:

Hollow Inn – November 30th, 2022
Hilltop – December 7th, 2023
Econo Lodge – December 14th, 2023

Who: Anyone who is homeless in Washington County or is threatened by factors that could result in homelessness is invited to participate in any of the dates offered. We also welcome all who have an interest in improving the homeless situation here including those who wish to volunteer to provide support and encouragement for people experiencing homelessness in the communities of Washington County.

What: Purveyors of affordable housing and Washington County agencies that provide services to the unhoused will provide help applying for affordable housing and accessing desired services and supports.

Why: To help end homelessness in Washington County, which currently has nearly 400 known people experiencing homelessness.
