The Lighting of the 2022 State Christmas Tree at the Vermont State House with Governor Phil Scott
December 5, 2022 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
All are welcome to join Governor Phil Scott this coming Monday when he lights the 2022 State Christmas Tree on December 5th at 4:30 pm in front of the Vermont State House in Montpelier.
The majestic 40-foot balsam was donated by Richard Cowart and Anne Winchester of the Northlight Tree Farm in Calais. Northlight is one of Vermont’s oldest Christmas tree farms, dating back to the 1920’s. Joining the Governor on the front steps of the State House will be the U-32 High School chorus, performing seasonal music, and other seasonal displays will be found on and around the State House lawn. Following the half-hour ceremony, refreshments will be served in the State House lobby around the indoor Victorian Christmas tree, adorned with lights and handmade ornaments. Cookies and hot cider will be served free of charge, as the Governor and many children enjoy the return of holiday décor to the building for the first time since before the pandemic. All are welcome!
Enjoy the sights, smells, and tastes of the holidays at your State House!
