The Importance of Being Earnest
February 25 @ 7:00 pmFree
The Valley Players will present the fifth online staged reading in their Theater in Your Home series, The Importance of Being Earnest (A Trivial Comedy for Serious People) by Oscar Wilde, on February 25, 26, and 27 at 7 p.m. via Zoom.
Directed by Ruth Ann Pattee of Fayston, this classic comedy remains culturally relevant with high farce, puns, inverted meanings, and social satire. Wilde is quoted as saying that the play’s theme was “that we should treat all trivial things in life very seriously, and all serious things of life with a sincere and studied triviality.”
A link to view the performances will be available on the Valley Players website. There will be a Talk Back session with the cast on Saturday, Feb. 27, after the show. Admission to watch the production is free, and donations are gratefully accepted. Our average ticket price for a live performance is $12. Other staged readings in the series are available for viewing on the Valley Players YouTube page.
