Surveillance Capitalism

February 2 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Sunday February 2nd, 6 to 7 pm

As our surroundings become increasingly computerized, a new frontier has emerged: a place large corporations monitor and collect as much information as they can in order to predict and influence behavior, both on and off-line. Join us for a workshop on Shoshana Zuboff’s ๐˜š๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ ๐˜Š๐˜ข๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ฎ, which covers the rise of Google, Facebook, and behavior futures marketsโ€“ and what we can do to protect ourselves and fight back. Nadya Bedford has always been fascinated with espionage, surveillance, and human behavior. Ze has attended hacker conventions since 2006 and spent some time working on brainwave entrainment and remote surgery before fleeing Boston for Vermont. Ze lives in East Montpelier with zyr partner and a pile of broken computers.
