Poet’s Choice

March 8 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$14 – $18
The Valley Players present the world premiere of the play Poet’s Choice by Mary Pratt, directed by Doug Bergstein (Waitsfield). The play asks: What if an angel gave you a choice between a life of happiness or fame and fortune as a result of expressing your art? That is the question that Margaret (Sarah Storjohann, Barre), a poet, writer, and English professor, must face. Pem (Susan Loynd, Fayston), a fallen angel chosen by God (Cynthia Seckler, Fayston) and Satan (Gabriella Tamasi, Barre) to settle this wager, comes to earth to find an artist to pose this question to, with admittance to heaven & wings or hell & a flamethrower on the line for Pem. Additional cast members include Sarah DeBouter (Berlin) as Anna, a philosophy professor, Wes Olds (Graniteville), a music professor, and Carrie Phillips (Waterbury), an art professor and conceptual artist. Irene Halibozek (Essex Junction) is the Lighting Designer and Bridget Edwards (Winooski) is the Stage Manager. The playwright, Mary Pratt, is from New Haven, Vermont.
