Jack Fairweather is a Sunday Times bestselling author and winner of the British Press Award. “The Volunteer,” winner of the 2019 Costa Book Award, follows Polish resistance fighter Witold Pilecki, an underground army, and the secret mission to destroy Auschwitz.
