[Randolph, Vermont February 11, 2023] ART, etc. presents their February & March exhibits featuring the work of abstract artist Amy Schachter and The Randolph Ruggers. This show features paintings, tile work, sculpture and handmade hooked rugs, wall hangings and handbags. These artists have created works that are joyful, inspiring, contemplative and just plain cute! This exhibit will be on view until March 26, 2023.
Ms. Schachter works in acrylic paint and graphite on wooden panels. Her art continues to explore the relationship of the figure as a powerful organic image and how it relates to the environment that it exists in. The figurative images often depict women: open, exposed and vulnerable yet possessing an inner strength and fortitude. As she creates each piece, Amy pairs down the figure into a series of interlocking shapes and lines in order to encourage the viewer to use their imagination to connect the shapes and bits of recognizable elements to create a whole.
Also on exhibit are colorful and unique hooked rugs, bags and wall hangings created by members of The Randolph Ruggers. Vibrant animals, intricate knots and adorable sheep are just some of the exceptional and beautiful pieces featured in this show. The public is invited to a hooked rug demonstration offered by members of The Randolph Ruggers on Saturday, March 4th, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Come enjoy our current exhibits and learn how a rug is created. You are welcome to ask questions, appreciate the art form and even give it a try! Light refreshments will be served.
ART, etc. is an artisan craft store with two dedicated gallery spaces. Accented by an exciting array of pottery, woodwork, jewelry, iron work, candles and an assortment of artwork from Vermont artisans, ART, etc. is truly a celebration of Vermont’s beauty and artistic talents.
