Capital City Concerts in collaboration with the Unitarian Church of Montpelier are once again offering a free family concert on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier by the talented sister act Sibyl. Lily and Chloe Holgate hail from a family of Broadway musicians/actors and have been making music together since they were children. They are millennial conservatory-trained musicians who sing and play a variety of instruments. Expert and nuanced arrangers, their songs feature original settings of poetry and newly imagined arrangements of folk songs. Their intricate vocal harmonies over gossamer string lines create a sound-world both intimate and intense, hopeful and haunting. Sibyl was a recent winner and a top pick for WNYC’s Pubic Song Project. Visit youtube.com/@sibyl5048 to sample their performances.

The concert will also include a spirited performance of two fiddle tunes performed by string students from the Orchard Valley Waldorf School, Montpelier Public Schools, and Green Mountain Youth Symphony, alongside the Holgate sisters, and organized by violinist and violin teacher Mary Gibson.
