Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund Announces Final Opportunity for Grants to Small Businesses

0
The Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund is issuing a crucial final notice to business owners adversely affected by the July flooding, urging them to apply for financial assistance. The deadline to submit grant applications is Nov. 15, 2023. This opportunity for a $2,500 award is exclusively available for small businesses that have not yet received a Main Street Recovery Fund grant.

Thanks to the tremendous support of individuals, businesses, and communities, the fund has successfully raised over $800,000, enabling the distribution of nearly 300 grants to small businesses. These checks are meant to provide needed bridge funding as these Vermonters regain their footing. Funds cover flood-related expenses, bolstering recovery efforts.

Patti Komline, a board member for the Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund, expressed her appreciation for the generosity of so many donors. She stated, “The outpouring of support for this fund has been overwhelming. We’ve seen individuals and businesses from all corners of Vermont and beyond come together to assist our neighbors in need. We need this last push because we know there are more eligible business owners out there.”

State Treasurer Mike Pieciak emphasized the vital role of Vermont’s small businesses and main streets in the state’s culture and identity. He stated, “They are the heartbeat of our communities. I urge Vermonters to support our efforts in spreading the word about these grant opportunities for small businesses impacted by the July flooding.”
