By the end of the year we will be sick of food, but for now, what a glorious subject! We humans have a deep history of feast days, and for many, the holiday season features food and the harvest. We call Thanksgiving the festival of tan, orange, and brown foods in my family, and it comes at the end of what I call Carrot Month. I love carrots, and now, at their height of sweetness, they and other vegetables dazzle us in many forms. With so many underage grandchildren, they even serve as a “little-glass” juice toast, with beet and ginger, to welcome all to the table. So bottoms up and Happy Holidays!
