A glimpse of a fox in the snow, by day or by night, always seems special. I know they are in the mating season now, or just leaving it, having paired up for the spring and summer. With luck there will be pups and the population of mice in the territory around the den will plummet. There is an argument whether or not their presence reduces Lyme disease. No matter, they seem to convey a blessing on the neighborhood they inhabit.
