Winter Updates for Montpelier Parks

Sledding Hill: Montpelier Parks AmeriCorps volunteers have been clearing plants and debris, and it’s ready for sledding. Please leash dogs here to keep kids safe.

Skiing: Parks staff will be grooming trails in Hubbard, North Branch, and some of the old Morse Farm trails. Saturday, December 7th, Onion River Nordic is partnering with Parks staff to host a workday to prepare trails for grooming. Volunteers will meet at the Elm Street pool pavilion at 9 am, and return afterward for chili, cookies, and hot drinks. (To volunteer, email Dan at dtvoisin@gmail.com)

Winter Fat Tire Biking: The Parks Commission voted to approve a winter fat tire biking route through Hubbard Park, from Seven Fireplaces to North Park Drive, pending a signage and communications plan to be completed by Parks staff and presented at the December Parks Commission meeting.

Dog Walking: As always, unleashed dogs are welcome in Hubbard Park, though they must be leashed within Hubbard Tower and on the sledding hill. Dogs must be leashed at all times in North Branch River Park and in all other Montpelier parks.
