WCYSB Hosts 47th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner

0
The Washington County Youth Service Bureau/Boys & Girls Club, with support from the Central Vermont community, is hosting the 47th annual free Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 28, at the Bethany Church, 115 Main Street, Montpelier. The meal will be served from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Thanksgiving delivery service is available for those unable to leave their homes and can be scheduled by calling 229-9151.

This beloved Thanksgiving tradition has its roots in the firm belief that strong community connections are important to everyone’s well-being—and are especially critical for youths to learn, grow, and thrive. That’s why, for 47 years, we have welcomed people of all ages and walks of life to join us on Thanksgiving Day.

This event served 716 people in 2018, with 360 guests at the sit-down meal and 356 deliveries. At this time of year we are grateful to those who support our work as well as all the community efforts that make this Thanksgiving celebration possible. We especially want to thank our top sponsors: National Life Group Foundation, VSECU, Community National Bank, Lucky’s Plumbing and Heating, The Vermont Flannel Co., and Woodbury Mountain Toys.

We are seeking volunteers for Thanksgiving Day, as well as pie bakers and turkey cookers. If you are available to volunteer or would like to make a donation, please call 229-9151 between 8:30 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. You can also visit our website for more information:
