Allison Jacob Opens Acupuncture Practice
WATERBURY — Following in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, who practiced in Vermont in the early 1900s, Allison Jacob has recently opened her healing practice Earth Sea Acupuncture LLC. She joins Waterbury Integrative Health, 46 South Main Street in Waterbury as its newest practitioner. Jacob graduated with honors from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She specializes in classical Chinese acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine; and is board certified and licensed to practice in both Vermont and Oregon. National College of Natural Medicine is the oldest accredited naturopathic medical college in North America and is known for blending ancient healing wisdom with contemporary scientific approaches to health care.
“The deep connections between mind and body have been long understood in Chinese medicine, but less so in western scientific and medical traditions. Thank goodness we’re finally escaping Descartes’ dualisms,” she said. Pasta Dinner Fundraiser For Free Lunch June 4
MONTPELIER — Volunteers of the Unitarian Church of Montpelier Community Lunch are holding a pasta dinner fundraiser Saturday, June 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Dinner will be pasta, assorted sauces and pesto, garlic bread, salad, dessert and beverages. The same great chefs we have every Monday will provide this delicious dinner. Participants will get to taste why people tell us they enjoy Monday lunch the church. All profits will benefit the Monday community lunch. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children. Classmates Sought For 50th Reunion
MONTPELIER — The Montpelier High class of 1966 will hold its 50th reunion on Saturday, July 16, with a buffet at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. Other activities include a cookout at a classmate’s house in Maple Corner on Friday evening and a brunch at a classmate’s house in Grand Isle on Sunday. All events will be casual. It’s Prom Time Again
MONTPELIER — Did you make or get your “promposal,” yet?
It’s time for Senior Prom, May 28, 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. It could be the hottest event in town. This affair benefits the Montpelier Senior Activity Center and starts off with optional pre-prom dinner at 5 p.m. Buy your tickets early. Last year attracted more than 125 attendees. Prom includes dessert buffet, cash bar, music by DJ Fred Wilbur, dancing, a silent auction and garden party-themed decorations. All are welcome.

PLAINFIELD — Staff members of The Bridge Carla Occaso (managing editor) and Marichel Vaught (design/calendar) have started hosting a Saturday morning program on WGDR Plainfield/WGDH Hardwick called Cuppa. Discussion topics cover local news, trends, events and more.
“Cuppa is based on what you would talk about over a cuppa with pals. Talk is about anything and everything, within reason. It’s news, music and banter with a dash of irreverence,” said Vaught.
The show is live Saturday mornings, 7 to 9 a.m. on 91.1 FM in Plainfield and 91.7 FM in Hardwick. Live-streaming is also available on wgdr.org.
