Supreme Court: Hallsmith Entitled to New Hearing

MONTPELIER — The Vermont Supreme Court released on June 19 its decision on procedural issues relating to the termination of former Planning and Development Director Gwendolyn Hallsmith. The court affirmed the Superior Court decision that Hallsmith is entitled to a new administrative hearing on the merits of her case.
The City is currently reviewing the decision in detail. Although disappointed in the procedural outcome, the City looks forward to promptly conducting a full hearing on the merits and remains confident that just cause exists for the termination action.
The City will make no additional comment at this time.
