Friday, October 17, 4-8 p.m., Montpelier Art Walk: Showcasing works of Central Vermont artists at multiple locations throughout Montpelier.

Saturday, October 18, 4-8 p.m., NEW Montpelier Arts Festival: Explore unique venues exhibiting visual arts, crafts, culinary arts, poetry and performance art. Venue highlights include:

MONTPELIER’S UPSTAIRS GALLERY

43 State Street, third floor—Local independent artists showcase their works, including mixed media, painting and photography.

WALKING THE (ART)WALK

43 State Street, second floor—Fine photography by a new Group of Seven: Elliot Burg, Annie Tiberio Cameron, Lisa Dimondstein, Julie Parker, Sandy Shenk, John Snell and Rob Spring.

STATE STREET TRANSFORMED

State Street—A pop-up artist market with Vermont’s finest; traditional New England music from the Summit School of Traditional Music and Culture’s Fiddle Kids; art auction; “Archistream,” an Airstream trailer repurposed as a mobile gallery of local architects; hot bar with tea, cider and hot cocoa; and poi fire dance at dusk.

139 Main Street—”An art inundation! Food truck rally and craft beer bar curated by ArtsRiot, installation art and performance pieces curated by ONE Arts Collective, and two film screenings from Green Mountain Film Festival”—ArtsRiot

POETRY STORYWALK

Kellogg-Hubbard Library, 135 Main Street—”The Peace of Wild Things,” by Kentucky farmer-poet Wendell Berry, with be presented on the library lawn in calligraphy by Skye Forest and photographs by Annie Tiberio Cameron.

STUDIO PLACE ARTS

The Garage, 58 State Street—”Studio Place Arts studio artists and other local talent, individual spirits in the past office of Senator Jeffords, revitalize the Garage in visual splendor with hints of musical poetic happenstance”—Studio Place Arts

GALLERYSIX

6 Barre Street and 13 Main Street—GallerySIX presents new work by Ben Peberdy, a collage artist also known as Deluxe Unlimited—plus a month-long art event featuring 15 current artists exhibiting together in the gallery’s pop-up satellite space at 13 Main.
